The Color Our World summer reading program runs Tuesday, May 27 through Saturday, July 19, 2025. We have something for everyone at Dorcas Carey Public Library!
For adults, everything you read is a chance to win! Every book, audiobook, and magazine you check out earns you an entry in the weekly prize drawing. All entry tickets are automatically included in the grand prizing drawing at the end of the reading program!
Teens can register at the adult circulation desk and will earn weekly prize drawing tickets for every thirty minutes of reading they complete. They must read for six hours to finish the program. Teens who complete the program are eligible for the grand prize drawing!
Children can register at the children's circulation desk. All children can check out ten items to earn a ticket for the weekly prize drawing. Toddlers must read ten books to complete the program. Children in preschool through fifth grade will track time spent reading in ten minute segments to earn points for level prizes. Children must complete three levels to be eligible for the grand prize drawing. All children registered for the summer reading program are welcome to attend the Swim and Pizza Party on Monday, July 21, 2025 to celebrate the end of summer reading. Remember, permission slips must be signed by a parent and returned to the library by Saturday, July 19 in order to attend!
